From Questions to Working Ideas: Welcome to My Website

Hello, I’m Leon Wu, also known online as TheQuestion 问题饼老师. Welcome to my website.

If you know me through finance, you might be surprised to find a game project here. If you arrived through AI or software development, you may not know that I used to be a professional competitive shooter. I built this website to bring those different experiences—and the thinking behind them—together in a place that can grow over time.

Why I wanted a place of my own

Until now, my work has lived across different platforms: videos, social posts and GitHub projects, each suited to a different kind of expression. But when someone asks what I have been working on, a résumé or a single social account never quite tells the whole story.

I wanted a lasting, public home where you can get to know my background, read my writing and see what I am trying, why I am trying it and what I learn along the way. Alongside the finished work, I want to document the process of getting from a question to a result.

A path through several different fields

I was a professional shooter in Shanghai, competing in men’s rapid-fire pistol and air pistol. I spent six years in full-time residential training and earned China’s National First-Class Athlete designation. After retiring from sport, I completed undergraduate and postgraduate studies in international accounting and moved into finance.

Today, I am a Senior Finance Manager at Cushman & Wakefield, responsible for internal controls, procurement and AI-enabled finance transformation. I am also a Research Fellow at the Institute of Intelligent Finance, Shanghai National Accounting Institute.

Looking back, this was not a route I had planned in advance. Yet training, studying and working have all made me care about the same thing: whether an idea holds up in practice. In my AI work, that means going beyond a demonstration and putting tools into real tasks to see where they help and where human judgment is still needed.

Beyond finance, I build my own applications

Since 2023, I have experimented with knowledge bases and OpenWebUI deployments, tested generative and video models, and tried a wide range of AI tools. I have also participated in early testing of some models and products.

These days, I work with Codex, Claude Code, TraeWork, WorkBuddy and VS Code with plugins, MCP and Skills to explore development, automation and data analysis. I have also experimented with connecting these tools to Power BI and considered how they can support actual finance work.

I think of myself as an independent developer working across disciplines. LedgerAI grew out of finance use cases; Ward 09 grew out of an interest in making games. They are very different projects, but both have shown me how AI assistance can help one person turn more ideas into something usable that others can examine and test.

Generating code, of course, does not mean a problem is solved. In finance applications in particular, I value human review, deterministic accounting controls and clear responsibility for the results. AI expands what I can do; judgment and accountability remain mine.

This website is also a human–AI collaboration

The site you are visiting is one outcome of that exploration. Through conversations with OpenAI Codex, I gradually developed it from a personal homepage into a site where I can publish articles and visitors can comment and exchange ideas.

I supplied my background and materials and decided what to show, how the pages should feel and what the site needed to do. Codex handled the website code and page generation, content organization, Cloudflare deployment and functional checks before and after launch. We repeatedly refined the introduction, project presentation, bilingual pages and reading links to bring the site closer to what I had in mind.

Testing was part of the work: publishing and withdrawing articles, displaying guest comments, protecting the admin area and restoring database backups locally were all checked in practice. Passing those checks does not mean the site will never have problems. It still needs ongoing maintenance.

Codex also helped draft this opening article from my background and our discussions about the site. I want to be open about that process: I pose the questions and choose the direction; AI helps carry out much of the detailed work; and we use actual results to test the ideas.

What I plan to write about

I will gradually write about three areas: practical questions in finance and business, hands-on experience with AI tools and models, and the process of building my own projects. I want to share the detours and unsuccessful experiments too, including why I change my mind.

These are my personal observations and experiences, not the views of my employer or affiliated institutions. I do not expect every experiment to produce a definitive answer. Some questions take more practice and discussion to understand.
